Here’s to the Future

Students focused on their long- and short-term goals during Beloit’s 2017 Advising Practicum, held in March.

The full day of workshops and sessions gave them the chance to step back from the day-to-day to develop their plans for on- and off-campus study and design strategies for their post-Beloit lives.

With guidance from advisors, faculty, and a large contingent of alumni, students reflected on everything from selecting the right classes within a major to thinking about careers and graduate school to planning for a meaningful off-campus term. This year, students had more opportunities than ever to receive first-hand advice from alumni. More than 70 members of the alumni community returned to Beloit to participate in sessions and panels, and more than 400 attended the day’s culminating “Mocktails with Professionals” networking event in the Science Center atrium.
